The Healer is the soundtrack to a dance work in collaboration with Katie Wong of RAWDance in San Francisco, California.

In Wong’s words, "The Healer" which premiered earlier this year started as a way to honor the memory of my late aunt, a holistic healer and educator and evolved into a moment to process our experiences during the pandemic and reimagine a way to connect with our ancestors and our community.

Creating the soundtrack was also a process for me to share my 35 year experience with Tai Chi Chuan and passion for Asian music and culture in general.

The music incorporates different healing modalities and references in addition to Katie’s Aunt’s wise words for living. The instruments themselves are healers just as we all are in our own ways.
The Healer soundtrack is a kind of cathartic healing sound bath on its own but the choreography, expressive dance and accompanying film of the performance are intrinsic elements of The Healer and should be together with the music for the full immersive experience.
